Books from the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia)

The Minneapolis Institute of Art began in 1883 as the Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts, and its museum building, designed by McKim, Mead & White, opened on January 7, 1915. The collection now numbers more than 90,000 works. Until 2015 the museum was the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, plural, the name on most of its older books; it now calls itself Mia.

Its publishing follows its exhibitions and collections: catalogues for shows organized in Minneapolis or brought there, books on parts of the permanent collection, and the museum's Bulletin. Older catalogues, issued for a single exhibition, now circulate mainly second-hand.
