Books on Chinese Art & Porcelain

Chinese art is the deepest specialist field in Asian art collecting, and its literature is correspondingly large: dynastic surveys, technical studies of ceramics and their reign marks, museum and auction catalogues, and a growing shelf of Chinese-language publications from mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwanese museums.

Collectors of porcelain rely heavily on catalogues of documented collections and on mark handbooks, because so much later production copies earlier styles. Painting and calligraphy have their own literature, best entered through a general history before the monographs.
